Francois Rabelais (1494-1553) was a French writer whose comic masterpiece, Gargantua, is one of the most influential works in the Western literary canon. Gargantua Now is a version for today's world. Both a parody and a riddling comedy, it is a story of magical reality, starting with the birth and education of the giant Gargantua and ending with a philosophical and psychological commentary on existence. It asks: what is wisdom? And points to the truth beyond labels.

This book, accessible and able to be enjoyed by all, is intended to have the same effect today as the original.
